Where your files live

See where Local Mode stores files, and where Private Cloud keeps them.

The folder on disk is for Local Mode. Private Cloud stores files under your account on the service you chose.

Local Mode

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Review the data folder shown there.
  3. Use that folder when you back up.

Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Finipher

Windows: %APPDATA%\Finipher

Finipher Private Cloud

Processed documents live on Private Cloud under your login. The browser and phone keep only what they need to show the workbench. Delete data on the web app wipes this account’s Cloud documents, linked banks, tax packets, and inbox.

Organization

Files live on that organization’s Finipher service. Their retention rules decide how long a delete takes.

Companion phone

The phone does not store your statement PDFs. It holds findings your computer already produced, or a sealed file waiting for the Mac.

You'll know it worked when

You can point to the Settings path on Local Mode, or you can explain that Cloud files live under your account until you delete them.

If this doesn't work

Do not move Local Mode files while Finipher is open. Quit first, then back up the folder.
