Local Mode
Keep documents and the Finipher engine on this Mac or Windows PC.
Local Model (On this device) is the original Finipher path. Your statements, extracted text, search index, and chat stay on this computer.
Steps
- Install the desktop app and sign in.
- Choose Local Model (On this device) when the app asks where documents are analyzed.
- Finish first-run setup so the Finipher engine and model are ready.
- Open Upload, add files, then click Process Documents.
- Review Dashboard on this computer.
What stays here
The Finipher data folder holds your uploads and results. See Where your files live. The website still stores your account, billing, and license only.
Phone
Pair the phone as Alongside my computer if you want Today and reminders. The phone does not receive PDFs. A statement you send from the phone is sealed for this computer.
Switching away
If you later choose Finipher Private Cloud, new files go there. Switching modes does not move the documents already on this disk. Use Delete data on the machine you want to empty.
You'll know it worked when
Settings shows the local engine as ready, and the location badge reads On this device or ON YOUR MAC.
If this doesn't work
Use Fix: setup stuck if the engine never becomes ready. Choose a smaller model if this computer is short on memory.
